Wetter Rhodt unter Rietburg is a municipality in the Sdliche Weinstrae district, in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. It is situated on the German Wine Route, between the towns of Neustadt an der Weinstrae and Landau in der Pfalz. Wetter Rhodt is known for its picturesque half-timbered houses, its vineyards, and its proximity to the Rietburg ruins.
The municipality of Wetter Rhodt unter Rietburg was first mentioned in a document from 1156. It was originally part of the County of Leiningen, but it passed to the Electorate of the Palatinate in 1460. Wetter Rhodt was granted town rights in 1490. The town was badly damaged during the Thirty Years’ War, but it was rebuilt in the 18th century. Wetter Rhodt is now a popular tourist destination, thanks to its beautiful scenery, its historic buildings, and its many wineries.
